How to create a rule engine?

Highlightbox

The rule engine allows you to define automated rules for sensors or sensor presets. This enables you to monitor alarms, send notifications, and trigger corrective actions based on defined conditions.

Steps to create a rule engine

  1. Navigate to the menu
    • Go to Hygiene Management → Rule Engine.
  2. Add a new rule engine
    • Click “+ Add” to create a new rule.
  3. General settings
    • Enter a unique name for the rule engine.
  4. Select source
    • Choose between:
      • Sensor → Create a rule for a specific sensor.
      • Sensor Preset → Create a rule for all sensors using this preset.
    • Select the desired sensor or sensor preset.
  5. Define trigger
    • Determine what will trigger the rule:
      • Measurement limit exceeded → e.g., temperature deviation.
      • Sensor alarm is active → e.g., offline alarm.
    • Consider shifts function:
      • Enable this if different actions should be taken when the alarm occurs during defined shifts (checklist shifts).
  6. Set actions
    • Activate corrective action:
      • Enable this if a corrective action should be triggered when an alarm occurs.
      • Select the checklist that should be triggered from the area.
    • Add notifications:
      • Click “+ Add a Recipient” to send an email or SMS notification to a specific person.
  7. Save
    • Click “Save changes” to store the rule engine.

Tip:
The rule engine allows you to create advanced automations, such as triggering checklists during alarms or sending notifications to multiple recipients.
